Marv Recinto is a writer, critic and editor specialising in contemporary art of the Philippines
Based between London and Manila, Marv is the Managing Editor of ARTMargins (MITPress) and a PhD student at London’s Courtauld Institute of Art. Her CHASE AHRC-funded research concerns art and the politics of excess in 21st-century Manila.
Marv has previously held editorial positions at ArtReview, London and Christie’s, New York, and worked with several international institutions including the Serpentine Gallery, London; The Photographer’s Gallery, London; Philippine Contemporary Art Network (PCAN) at the University of the Philippines, Manila; Ateneo Art Gallery, Manila; School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London; Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD), Manila; Gasworks, London; and Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), Berlin. She is the editor of Pio Abad: Fear of Freedom Makes Us See Ghosts (2024), and has served as a juror for the Ateneo Art Awards – Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Prizes in Art Criticism.
